- Storyline: A blue-collar worker on New York's depressed waterfront finds his life changed after he saves a woman attempting suicide. Bill Roberts works as a stoker on a coal-red barge. - An ambitious and near insanely violent gangster climbs the ladder of success in the mob, but his weaknesses prove to be his downfall. - Toni Kamonte zvani Skarfejs (Paul Muni) desna je ruka bossa Džonija Lovoa (Osgood Perkins). Kako je agresivan i beskrupulozan, naglo se uzdiže u gangsterskoj hijerarhiji Čikaga. Film je nadahnut likom i delovanjem zloglasnog mafijaša Ala Kaponea, što je scenarista Hekt, dobar poznavalac ljudi iz kriminalnog podzemlja, vešto zamaskirao pred Kaponeovim ljudima, tako da su oni bili uvereni da se radi o gangsterima koje je Kapone likvidirao na svom putu prema vrhu pa Kapone nije pravio smetnje filmu i njegovim tvorcima. Tačno pedeset godina kasnije čuveni francuski kantautor Serž Gejnsboro režirao je, sa svojom suprugom Džejn Birkin u ulozi Seske, kratki petominutni "rimejk", dok je celovečernji, bitno osavremenjeni rimejk sa Alom Paćinom u naslovnoj ulozi 1983. godine potpisao Brajan De Palma.

- It's the early days of the F.B.I. - federal agents working for the Department of Justice. To je bilo u ovom izvrsnom gangsterskom krimiću. Realizovan nakon uvođenja Hejsovog kodeksa, odnosno strožije holivudske cenzure, "G-Men" je imao zadatak da promoviše vladinu borbu protiv organizovanog kriminala i populariše zanimanje agenta FBI-a, o čemu svedoči i činjenica da je izradu filma lično nadzirao legendarni dugogodišnji šef FBI-a Džon Edgar Huver (1895-1972.). I pored toga "Rat gangsterima" je slojevito ostvarenje uverljivih likova i snažnih emocija, koje će mnogim gledaocima i pored osam decenija distance još uvek delovati posebno uverljivo i savremeno.

- An ambitious and near insanely violent gangster climbs the ladder of success in the mob, but his weaknesses prove to be his downfall. Johnny Lovo rises to the head of the bootlegging crime syndicate on the south side of Chicago following the murder of former head, Big Louis Costillo. Tačno pedeset godina kasnije čuveni francuski kantautor Serž Gejnsboro režirao je, sa svojom suprugom Džejn Birkin u ulozi Seske, kratki petominutni "rimejk", dok je celovečernji, bitno osavremenjeni rimejk sa Alom Paćinom u naslovnoj ulozi 1983. godine potpisao Brajan De Palma.

- Wrongly convicted James Allen serves in the intolerable conditions of a southern chain gang, which later comes back to haunt him. Connors enters Sing Sing cocksure of himself and disrespectful toward authority,
but his tough but compassionate warden changes him. Tom Connors is sentenced to
Sing Sing believing his influential friends will soon have him out on parole. A

- It's the early days of the F.B.I. - federal agents working for the Department of Justice. Though they've got limited powers - they don't carry weapons and have to get local police approval for arrests - that doesn't stop fresh Law School grad Eddie Buchanan from joining up, and he encourages his former roommate James "Brick" Davis (James Cagney) to do so as well. But Davis wants to be an honest lawyer, not a shyster, despite his ties to mobster boss McKay, and he's intent on doing so, until Buchanan is gunned down trying to arrest career criminal Danny Leggett. Jednog dana u grad stiže Dejvisov kolega sa fakulteta Edi Bjukenen (Regis Toomey), koji se u međuvremenu zaposlio u vladinoj kancelariji za borbu protiv kriminala, kasnije proslavljenom FBI-u. Edi nagovara Dejvisa da mu se pridruži, ali Dejvis popuni pristupnicu tek nakon što njegovog prijatelja ubije jedan od Mekovih kriminalaca. Željan osvete, Dejvis prolazi obuku za agenta, ali problemi nastanu kada njegov šef Džef Mek Kord (Robert Armstrong) otkrije advokatovu burnu mladost i vezu sa Mekom... Osim što je u antologijskim filmovima poput "Državnog neprijatelja broj 1", "Usijanja" i "Burnih dvadesetih" glumio neke od najimpresivnijih gangsterskih likova u istoriji filma, legendarni američki glumac Džejms Kegni (1899-1986.) odigrao je i jednu antologijsku ulogu policajca, odnosno FBI agenta. To je bilo u ovom izvrsnom gangsterskom krimiću. Realizovan nakon uvođenja Hejsovog kodeksa, odnosno strožije holivudske cenzure, "G-Men" je imao zadatak da promoviše vladinu borbu protiv organizovanog kriminala i populariše zanimanje agenta FBI-a, o čemu svedoči i činjenica da je izradu filma lično nadzirao legendarni dugogodišnji šef FBI-a Džon Edgar Huver (1895-1972.). I pored toga "Rat gangsterima" je slojevito ostvarenje uverljivih likova i snažnih emocija, koje će mnogim gledaocima i pored osam decenija distance još uvek delovati posebno uverljivo i savremeno.
